Trials of the Sunshine Bangle

Started this beadwoven  herringbone rope , threw in a few 6mm fire polished glass beads among other seed beads all in yellow . Well now I am bored with it , thinking a right-angle-weave net around this bangle might be just what it needs , or maybe some sun rays done in the peyote stitch, oh the ideas are endless....

Okay I must admit, I get bored too easy!! It is now the beginning of August and  haven't finished  'The Sunshine Bangle'.....   So being the person I am , I tore it apart and decided to make something else. My ideas have changed a little bit , or actually alot ! , I still plan on the bright yellow but have decided  to add another color, and change the name a tiny bit.  With just a little luck I can start tonight, would like to have some pic's to post .

At Peace

Glad to be back home where I can spend my time beading, I wasn't able to even pack them due to not thinking about anything but my grandmother. I managed to fly home to nebraska to spend four days by her bedside ,  last post I talked about her struggle with Alzheimer's, well at last , she is at peace.

I planned on having this necklace done for the etsy beadweaver's june challenge. As you see I failed to make the deadline , sometimes life will throw you a curve ball when your least expecting it.  Starting the challenge I was dead set on getting my voice heard for more awareness for Epilepsy. Things changed when my grandmother with Alzheimers took a turn for the worse,  she has had this terrible disease for more than 15 years,  I can not remember a time when she wasn't there for me as a child, now is my time to be there for her, that said i will be making a trip home to be with family in this time of need., :)

Spiral Rope Saturday

At last, finished up this bright green 52" spiral rope variation this weekend. Decided I would add some branch fringe , the colors seemed to work pretty well together, I liked the combination of orange and lime green, who would have thought that!, Happy colors :),  I have been wanting to use the large crystal cut glass beads since last summer,  nice quality :).
Originally this was going to be an early spring necklace, well that didn't happen, oops,  the green reminds me of all those easter baskets I had as a child .  I present  'Easter Grass' ,  I keep telling myself  I am not late,  just a little early:)

swimming tomato plants?

So what do you do in your spare time?, I garden, or so I thought I did!,  my mother has a green thumb, not sure what color mine is , perhaps brown.  Think its time to get back to the beads, I can always bead a tomato plant, maybe a whole garden ....?    okay time for me to be serious again,  still working on  a piece for the june challenge on the EBW team.... maybe I will replant , what do you think?

inspired by a hat ?

ran across this used cowboy hat and noticed that the brim on one side was cut off. well that sparked my interest, I noticed the felt was in perfect condition, what a waste of good material!, thats when it hit me, new series!!, 'The Cowboy Hat' ,  using the felt will be a great way to recycle. Hmmm... what to make first....bead pendant , maybe ring , the ideas are endless!

Helpful or Not?

Does this seem helpful to you?, well its not, cute though, Buger always finds away to get attention, whether its sitting next to my cat or dog, or sneezing or having the hickups, had to take a picture , he's starting his own blog after he learns how to get on the internet!

Finished 'The Fighting Turquoise' bead embroidered cuff....

1 1/4" bead embroidered cuff  was done in shades of turquoise mainly, added a rainbow affect in purple, yellow, pink, light green, aqua seed beads, along with bugle beads and turquoise stones. I present ' The Fighting Turquoise'

picked out the suede for the cuff yesterday, nice fawn color , like the contrast it gives the turquoise trim I am doing. I glued the suede backing first to the aluminum cuff ,  then the clamping , making sure its in place for the next step.WAIT...... then the front is done in the same manner,WAIT..... Time for edging and more embellishing , we will see.. :),

Front of the Fighting Turquoise Cuff finished....

front finished on this cuff, unless I get a wild hair for more, never  know for sure! Took over 20 hours of beading so far, but who's counting ?, glad the turquoise is standing out , the finishing touches will bring it all together, a fawn colored suede is what I am leaning towards with the backing.  more coming !

the start of another cuff, keeping to a color theme! well trying

okay this cuff actually started out to be in turquiose colors , so far its got turquiose in it , but I can't stay away from the colors!, conforming to following rules have never been a real big thing for me, even as a kid they said color inside the lines or stay in school yard or stay still, not me ...just had to be different..

My First Blog Ever...

I'm new at blogging , so beware if  I start to talk about other things than bead embroidery, I do like to garden, and go camping, and am a really big Cornhusker college football fan. I hope not to bore you to much with my new blog.  I started my etsy shop around the end of December, started facebook page, and am considering maybe doing artfire in the future.  I suppose I should tell you all I have a pet Cockatail for a pet, he's the co-captain in my household, he oversees most things while riding around on my shoulder . Don't have a pic of that right now so this will have to do.
